Sailing Lessons: Increase Your Confidence and Get Certified

The seas and winds can be daunting, and so can be a marina full of boats. When sailing confidence is key, decisions need to be taken on the spot. Having a safe, controlled and fun space to practice can be key to develop your confidence.

There are many skills to learn, and quite often there’s a couple stubborn ones.

There are different levels for any of these skills, from complete beginner to advanced. We will start wherever you are at.

  • Chart reading, assessing route options, noting dangers along the way and planning a safe route.

  • Navigating the planned route using conventional charts or chart plotters.

  • Understanding weather forecasts for the area you are navigating and making safe decisions around it.

  • Making a sail configuration plan based on weather and planned route.

  • Hoisting, unfurling and trimming sails according to the conditions, boat capabilities and confort requirements.

  • Docking manoeuvres including alongside, stern to, med mooring, etc.

  • Attaching to mooring balls and anchoring,

  • Safety manoeuvres drills, under engine and sail.

  • Developing the habit of always having a Plan B.
